R4W 8.1 (build 3056) upgrade instructions: IMPORTANT NOTES! - Response 6.x/7.x users cannot install this update. You must first upgrade to 8.0. - You must be on build 3055 or 3055a or 3056 Beta to install 3056. - Be sure to see step 8 if you're adding CC encryption with this build - VERY IMPORTANT for those using CC encryption: If you are using any Windows 2000 workstations be certain they ALL are running the lastest Windows 2000 Service Pack 4! Our CC Encryption uses the Microsoft Encryption routines only available in SP4. Response will not run if it is unable to create the encrypted data On the server: Important: please follow the instructions fully to make sure you have the most up-to-date version. 1. Get everyone out of Response. 2. Do a full backup (***VERY IMPORTANT***) of your SQL database AND the following directories in "...\colinear\r4w": - data - programs 3. Download and unzip the file: http://support.colinear.com/download/r8/3056_Update.zip (which contains Response.vd7, Data3056.zip) 4. copy "Response.vd7" to "...\colinear\r4w\programs" 5. Extract Data3056.zip to "...\colinear\r4w\data" Data3056.zip contains: sysfile.int oshiptrn.int crtrans.int ccchk.int SYSOENT.INT IMPO.INT chgfiles.vd7 6. Run the utility program "chgfiles.vd7". NOTE: Running chgfiles.vd7 multiple times will NOT cause any problems. In Windows Explorer, go to the \r4w\data directory and double-click on chgfiles.vd7 to run it. A login box will appear when it first starts. Enter the required information and click 'Ok.' This program may take several minutes to run. **Multi-Co users should run this program only once from the \data\ directory 7. Start Response and test to make sure that everything is working properly. 8. IF YOU ARE APPLYING the CC Encryption add-on and have received your password to activate the option please note: When you enter your password be sure the Expiration Date field is blank or you will get a message telling you the password is invalid !!!!! Special note regarding Discover Cards and CC Masks Problem after upgrading to 3056 (or v9 4017): Unable to enter certain credit card types after upgrading to 3056 (or v9 4017). Error message says Error: Wrong digit count, this Payment Code Correct the credit card "mask" in File | Payment Codes. The correct masks are being enforced in these new builds Please check ALL your credit card payment code masks NOW to ensure that each one is entered correctly.
