R4W 8.1 (build 3054(a)) upgrade instructions:

IMPORTANT NOTES!
        - Response 6.x/7.x users cannot install this update.  You must first upgrade to 8.0.
        - You must be on build 3053 to install 3054.
        - EVEN IF you are currently running build 3054a, please follow the instructions fully to make sure you have the most 
           up-to-date version.
        - Once the latest 3054a build is installed, the date/time of \r4w\programs\response.vd7 will be 1/12/2005, 5:20pm.
        - PLEASE REVIEW ALL NOTES BELOW! there is an extra step to download a special file KitServiceItems.vd7 to  
           fix kits with service items


On the server:

EVEN IF you are currently running build 3054a, please follow the instructions fully to make sure you have the most up-to-date version.

 1. Get everyone out of Response.

 2. Do a full backup (***VERY IMPORTANT***) of your SQL database
    AND the following directories in "...\colinear\r4w":
	- data
	- programs

 3. Download and unzip the file:
    http://support.colinear.com/download/r8/3054_Update.zip
    (which contains Response.vd7, Data3054.zip)

 4. copy "Response.vd7" to "...\colinear\r4w\programs"

 5. Extract Data3054.zip to "...\colinear\r4w\data"
        Data3054.zip contains:
                filelist.cfg
                ufi.int
                categinv.int
                category.int
                chgfiles.vd7
                inventor.int
                mimport.int
                shipmts.int

 6. Run the utility program "chgfiles.vd7".
    NOTE: Running chgfiles.vd7 multiple times will NOT cause any problems.
    So if you ran chgfiles as part of an earlier 3054 build, run it again.

    In Windows Explorer, go to the \r4w\data directory and double-click on
    chgfiles.vd7 to run it.  A login box will appear when it first starts.
    Enter the required information and click 'Ok.'  This program may take
    several minutes to run. **Multi-Co users should run this program only
    once from the \data\ directory

7. a.) Download this file for the special "service item" fix
	http://support.colinear.com/download/r8/KitServiceItems.vd7 (464KB)
    b.) Save the file to \r4w\data
    c.) Double-click \r4w\data\KitServiceItems.vd7 to run it
      This operation can be done at any time and with other users in the system.  It simply updates a SQL stored 
      procedure so service item components will be managed properly.  NOTE: If you think you MIGHT 
      incorporate service items in your kits in the near future, either download and run the utility above now or 
      be sure to install the 3055 build which will include the above fix when it comes out.


 8. Start Response and test to make sure that everything is working properly.

NOTE: SQL Stored Procedures are now created created with the chgfiles.vd7 program.  No separate sp_update.vd7 
is needed.  Create SQL.flg in \r4w\data to enable the SQL procedures.
