R4W 8.1 (build 3051a) upgrade instructions:

IMPORTANT NOTES!
        - Response 6.x/7.x users cannot install this update.  You must first upgrade to 8.0.
        - Even if you are running a beta version of the 3051 build or a release candidate or ANY build 3051 other than 3051a, please follow ALL installation instructions.


On the server:

 1. Get everyone out of Response.

 2. Do a full backup (***VERY IMPORTANT***) of your SQL database
    AND the following directories in "...\colinear\r4w":
	- data
	- programs

 3. Download and unzip the file:
    http://support.colinear.com/download/r8/3051_Update.zip
    (which contains Response.vd7, Data3051.zip, POSCC.exe, R4W.bmp)

 4. copy "Response.vd7" to "...\colinear\r4w\programs"

 5. Extract Data3051.zip to "...\colinear\r4w\data"
        Data3051.Zip contains:
                contract.int
                lineitem.int
                chgfiles.VD7
                filelist.cfg
                worktran.int
                inventor.int
                recnotes.int
                paycd.int
                SYSOENT.INT
                authrule.int
                invmerch.int
                itmalias.int
                multipay.int
                IMPO.INT

 6. Copy R4W.bmp to "...\colinear\r4w\bitmaps"

 7. Run the utility program "chgfiles.vd7".  In Windows Explorer, go to the
    data directory and double-click on chgfiles.vd7 to run it.  A login box
    will appear when it first starts.  Enter the required information and
    click 'Ok.'  This program may take several minutes to run.
    **Multi-Co users should run this program only once from the \data\ directory

 8. **IMPORTANT NOTE FOR COUNTER SALES USERS**
    For each Response Workstation running the Counter Sales Module, run the
    POSCC.EXE utility included in the ZIP file.  This will install the Point
    of Sale Common Controls required to support Receipt Printers and Cash
    Drawers.  This new version of the Common Controls supports a wider variety
    of Printers and Cash Drawers.  Even if your Receipt Printer and/or Cash
    Drawer is working properly in Response, you still need to run POSCC.EXE.
    Extract poscc.exe to \r4w\client and run on each Counter Sales workstation.

 9. Start Response and test to make sure that everything is working properly.
